Where is my data stored, and how is it protected?
Your data — database and recordings — is stored in the EU, encrypted in transit and at rest, with every organisation's data isolated at the database level and role-based access enforced on every request. Ascend is a Norwegian company operating under GDPR, we use only essential cookies (no tracking), and you can export or delete your data yourself from Settings. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never touch our servers.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No, never. The AI providers we use to generate courses are contractually prohibited from training on your data, and those transfers are covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Your customers' questions to the built-in assistant are answered using only your reviewed course text — their screens and data are never sent to an AI provider.
What happens to my screen recordings?
You review every generated course before it goes live, and can delete or redact any frame first. The raw recording is deleted as soon as the course is published — only the reviewed course text and extracted screenshots persist — and unpublished drafts are deleted automatically after 30 days.
