What this policy covers

This policy covers ascendonboarding.com — the marketing website you are reading now. The Ascend product itself runs on a separate application, and the data you and your customers put into it is governed by the privacy policy and data processing terms you accept when you create an account. The final section below summarises how product data is handled, but the in-app policy is the binding one.

This website sets no cookies

We do not use cookies on this website — none for tracking, none for advertising, and no consent banner as a result. Visitor statistics come from Plausible Analytics, which is EU-hosted and cookieless: it records page views, referrers, approximate country and device type in aggregate, and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites.

What we collect, and why

There are only two ways this website collects anything about you.

• Booking a call with the founders. The booking form asks for your work email, and optionally your name and company. We also store the time slot you chose and the timezone your browser is set to, so we can confirm a time that makes sense for you. We use this only to arrange and follow up on that conversation. The legal basis is your request to be contacted, as a step taken before entering a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). We keep these requests for as long as we need to arrange and follow up on the meeting, and we delete them sooner if you ask.
• Abuse prevention on that form. To stop automated submissions we issue a single-use token before the form is sent, and we rate-limit by IP address. IP addresses are used only in the moment, to count requests — they are not stored alongside your booking.

We do not buy contact data, we do not run advertising pixels, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for their own marketing.

Waitlist addresses collected before launch

Before the product opened for self-serve sign-up, this site collected email addresses for a waitlist. That form is gone and nothing new is written to it, but the addresses collected at the time are still stored. If you gave us yours and would like it removed, email us and we will delete it.

Where your data is stored, and who can see it

Data from this website is stored in the European Union and encrypted in transit and at rest. We use a small number of service providers to run the site — hosting and infrastructure, Plausible for analytics, and an email provider that notifies us when a booking comes in. They process data only on our instructions. A current list of these sub-processors is available on request.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email contact@ascendartificial.com and we will respond within one month. If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), or to the supervisory authority where you live.

How product data is handled

This is a summary for people evaluating Ascend before signing up. The in-app privacy policy and data processing agreement are the binding documents.

• Your database and recordings are stored in the EU, encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Every organisation's data is isolated at the database level, with role-based access enforced on every request.
• The AI providers used to generate courses are contractually prohibited from training on your data, and those transfers are covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Questions your customers ask the built-in assistant are answered using only your reviewed course text. Their screens and their data are never sent to an AI provider.
• You review every generated course before it goes live and can delete or redact any frame first. The raw recording is deleted as soon as the course is published — only the reviewed course text and extracted screenshots persist — and unpublished drafts are deleted automatically after 30 days.
• You can export or delete your data yourself from Settings at any time.
• Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages and never reach our servers.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles personal data, we will update this page and move the date at the top. For anything material we will say so directly rather than relying on you to re-read it.
